Bedford Day
Saturday September 26th 2009
Thanks to everyone in the club who helped to make the Rotary Club of Bedford booth a rousing success. We sold out of burgers, sausages, chips and almost out of hot dogs. And everything was delicious. We had huge crowds at our booth. Our "team" was functioning as a well oiled machine, from the orders and money-takers, servers and preparers, to the master chefs in the back row.
And a special thanks to several people who served way beyond the call of duty and two who worked hours and hours before the event, getting everything into place.
First a special thanks to Bill P. and Larry C. who were the Hot Dog chefs cooking up 400 hot dogs. They cooked all day long.
A special thanks to Cliff who helped helped Ken put together our great new grill, tplanning and buying the supplies and helped load and unload their two trucks and being the "Iron Chef" my mentor on the new grill. His flip was far superior to mine.
And of course to our "FACILITATOR" Ken, who with his energy, enthusiasm, knowledge and wisdom, made it all happen. The new banners looked great, the Angus burgers were a huge hit (they sold out first), and his estimation of numbers (for burgers, sausages and hot dogs) were simply amazing. When the crowds downed down, We were only left with a couple dozen dogs.
Over $1500 raised at Bedford Day 2009!
