April showers bring May flowers! Despite all the rain last month we got a lot done. A big thank you to Pam Brown for organizing our April evening meeting at Tashan—it was a great night of fellowship! Huge accolades to Deb Malone for her incredible leadership of the Hope for the Hungry effort, along with her dedicated committee—Marc, Victor, Bob, Paula, and Katie. Thanks to their hard work and your support, over 200 volunteers came together to pack more than 50,000 meals, and many of you generously donated personal care items to MCC making a tremendous impact for our community.  This month, we’re excited for our joint meeting with the Concord Club on May 1, a Day of Service in the pollinator garden on Saturday, May 3, and opportunities to visit the Science Center at the Lane School and take a CPR class on May 8—see me if you’d like to sign up. Thanks for everything you do to make our Club the best!

Evening Meeting -- May 6

Join the Rotary Club of Bedford's Evening Meeting for an evening of fellowship, community, and great food!

Attendees must order their food from Ken's Deli before the meeting. Place your order during the day on Tuesday, May 6

  • By Phone (781) 276-4999 - preferably between 10:30-11:30 am or 1:00-4:30 pm to avoid confusion during their peak lunchtime.
  • Or Online at kensnydeli.com

In either case, tell them your name and that it's a Rotary Club order for later pickup.
Complete your order, including payment.
All Rotary orders will be picked up at 5:30 pm and brought to the meeting.
Keep in mind - there will be a delay between when the order is ready and when it will be picked up. Therefore, it would be best not to order something like soup or a hot entree.

We'll be meeting in Upper Fellowship Hall, not our regular meeting room.

News from the Club
And, That's A Wrap!

2025 - MORE THAN 50,000 MEALS!

SINCE 2013 – MORE THAN HALF A MILLION!

On the last Saturday of April, the Rotary Club of Bedford, joined by this year’s partner Rotary clubs of Merrimack Valley and Chelmsford, closed out the Hope for the Hungry 2025 meal-packing event with a final count of 50,000-plus packed meals.

Destined for distribution to hunger-challenged people in the local vicinity, that number took the club’s project history grand total to more than 500,000 packed meals, a milestone half-million end to Bedford Rotary’s 11th annual effort to combat food insecurity globally and locally.

Start to Finish

When a tractor-trailer backs up to the Middlesex Community College loading dock late this week, it will mark the real beginning of Bedford Rotary’s Hope for the Hungry 2025. Little more than a day later, the truckload it carries from Meals of Hope will be the centerpiece of meal assembly by dozens of volunteer meal-packers.
