On Wednesday, May 21st, the Lexington High School Track was filled with laughter, energy, and inspiration as students, families, educators, and community members came together for the annual LABBB Collaborative Special Olympics. Representing Lexington, Arlington, Burlington, Bedford, Belmont, and Watertown, the event brought together 250 athletes and more than 350 volunteers, friends, and family members to celebrate ability, perseverance, and unity.

This year, as in many before, members of the Rotary Club of Bedford proudly joined the festivities. Christine and Tom Pinney and Judi Babcock represented our club, working alongside other volunteers as part of the lunch-serving crew. In just one hour, we served over 600 meals—a hearty spread of hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, watermelon, cookies, and all the fixings.

Though the day was chilly and overcast, the atmosphere was anything but gloomy. Smiles, cheers, and high spirits warmed the track as athletes competed and celebrated with the support of their mentors, teachers, families, and friends.

We're grateful to be part of such a meaningful event that highlights the strength and joy within our local communities. A big thank you to LABBB Collaborative for organizing another successful and heartwarming day. Until next year!
