On Saturday, September 6, the club held its annual Bicycle Helmet Giveaway, providing about 50 free helmets to children in the community. With safety as the top priority, our expert helmet fitters, Lita and Sze-Wen, carefully measured each child’s head to ensure a proper and comfortable fit.

In addition to protecting young riders, the event was an opportunity to connect with the community. Many families learned about the Rotary’s upcoming programs, including the relaunch of Bedford Community Dinners later this month and our festive Winter Holiday Breakfast in December.

The event also featured a safety course, courtesy of the Bedford Police Department, where children (and even some adults!) could practice safe riding skills. Former club member Art Smith joined in the fun by testing the course on his scooter, proving that safety is for everyone, no matter your wheels.

We were especially glad to see our friends from the community organization SAAB bring children to participate, reinforcing the strong ties among Bedford’s organizations and residents.

Events like this are made possible by the dedication of Rotary members, volunteers, and our generous supporters. Together, we’re making Bedford a safer, healthier, and more connected community
