The club had a busy meeting on Feb 16th, participating in a winter sow project - growing native plants to help the most at risk pollinators. Big thanks to the Southborough Open Space Preservation Commission for gifting us with the seeds.
The goals of the winter sow project are many. One is to have plants to sow when the our pollinator garden space is prepared for planting. Another is educating our members about the process of growing native plants from seed. Yet another is make native pollinator plants available for home gardens around Bedford!

The project was a lot of fun for everyone who attended. We worked together preparing the jugs, filling the containers with soil, planting the seeds, labeling, watering and taping up the jugs.
Now the jugs have been put outside in the snow, ready for cold stratification, hopefully ready to produce wonderful plants in the spring!
